Industrial Gases - Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide gas is an incombustible combination of carbon and oxygen. It is a colorless, odorless gas formed during combustion, respiration and organic decomposition and is not life sustaining. Carbon dioxide freezes at -78.5°C to form carbon dioxide snow.
Carbon dioxide is used extensively as a fire extinguisher, as a shielding gas in arc welding and in some medical applications. Its main use, how ever, is for carbonating soft drinks and other sparkling beverages.
We produces dry ice which is used for preserving food and other commodities requiring refrigeration at sub-zero temperatures.
