Industrial Gases - Acetylene

Acetylene, highly flammable with a wide range of flammability in both air and oxygen, is easily ignited. A gaseous hydrocarbon, it is colorless and has a strong garlic odor. This gas is unstable and highly combustible, producing a very hot flame (over 300°C or 540°F) when combined with oxygen. The oxy-acetylene flame is used for cutting and welding materials and in the manufacturing of chemicals.

Usage

  • Lubrication of bottle production molds.
  • Oxygen cutting and welding.
  • Industrial and Chemical Synthesis.
  • Fuel for atomic absorption instruments .
  • Paper pulp bleaching.
  • Water purification, odor control, tea.
